Sometimes when I'm backpacking all I can think of is "boy, I wish I hadn't brought this horseshoe set" or "yikes, whoever packed the rocks in my pack owes me a beer." If only there was a way to lighten the load without having to scrimp on the necessities in life. Fortunately the boys and girls at MIT have been kind enough to develop a product that successfully lightens the perceived load.Â

They claim that "exo-skeleton" can take up to 80 percent of the load off of an 80 pound pack. All this while looking that cool?! There must be a catch. Oh wait, there is. Turns out that the giant metal rods make a noticeable impact on your gait. So now you can be as lazy as you want, as long as you're willing to walk like Frankenstein.

Upon further research it turns out their actually developing another product that will actually take 100 percent of the load. Gear-Addicts was fortunate enough to get a spy photo
