OR Questions and answers… kinda

Just got back from OR. My first time there, really cool experience. I'll be going into more detail on some of the stuff I saw there but for right now I thought I'd just share some answers to some questions I had.
Gor-tex:
I might be slow but this was the more confusing conversation I've had. Gor-tex XCR will be no more but it's still being used in many products... "XCR" will be in lightweight running shoes and hikers but old Gore-tex will be in the heavy boots but it's all going to be called Gore Tex. I'm not sure why one wouldn't want to shout from the rooftops that your shoes are more breathable. Since Gore lost it's patent for the original Gore-tex practically ever membrane out there is now Gore-tex. I guess they want to completely rely on there brand name rather then actually showing how there new membranes are better then the old (well the marketing originally told us they wre better). Pro-Shel is XCR with a different laminate.
"We continue to innovate with the new technologies and solutions demanded by today's outdoor enthusiasts." [we're just not going to tell you about them because we know you'll still buy Gore-Tex for the same reason your kids buy Abercrombie (What happened to Fitch by the way?)Â ]
Why is 900 fill power gone?
No one that I talked to knew. I asked at both Mountain Hardware (who admittedly never sold a 900 fill) and Marmot. I heard rumors that it is impossible to test beyond 800+. The reps though that was a plausible reason.
Dansko sizing:
If you've tried on Dansko's before you know a 39 is not a 39 is not a 39. A 40 might be a 39 or maybe even a 38. I've always been told it's because of the hand last. Apparently there was a little bit more to it then that and Dansko is changing manufacturers because of "quality control issues"

Sorry to be nitpicky, but you might want to proof your post, there are a ton of errors.
I’m hoping to get to an OR show sometime, that would be a fun experience I’m sure. Glad you enjoyed it!
