Big, Beautiful and lots of wood.

So of all the things that i saw at OR i have to admit that not many really made me stop in aw.  One thing that did make me stop in my tracks and have to take a look was the beautiful creations at Grande Canoes. These were some amazing looking boats. I would love to paddle one and see how they hold up. They have a pretty large line of different boats, that all look great.
Water water everywhere…
Plastic bottles are bad for the earth. There's not much wiggle room with that one. They simply don't go anywhere in a reasonable amount of time. Biota Spring Water is looking to combat that though. With their bottle (first appearing in 2003), Biota has succesfully created a compostable water bottle. In the simplest way of putting it, the bottle is made of corn. Pretty cool considering the plastic bottle won't fall apart while on the shelf but once put into a compost pile, will be gone in about three months. Pretty impressive considering a regular bottle takes roughly 450 years. Not too shabby.
You stay classy San Diego?
From time to time, companies come out with a product that just blows us away. The FoxFury Fan Light...is not one of those. Not only does the light make minimal sense, according to their site, you have to buy a minimum of 150 of the little buggers. Holy crap! How excited about sports do you really need to be? What happened to the days of painting your chest fun colors and spilling beer on your neighbor? Lets bring those days back. Just in case though...here it is Fan Light. Buy one just so you can return it.
OR Questions and answers… kinda

Just got back from OR. My first time there, really cool experience. I'll be going into more detail on some of the stuff I saw there but for right now I thought I'd just share some answers to some questions I had.
kahtoola KTS
My review might be a little biased as the Kahtoola KTS Steel is the only crampon I've ever seriously used. However, I really don't see the need to use any other for anything but the most technical climbs. If for some reason you might think these crampons are not quite beefy enough for hardcore use, just consider that Lhakpa Gelu Sherpa set the former speed ascent (10 hours 56 minutes and 46 seconds) of Mt. Everest using a pair of Kahtoola KTS. [1]
Awesome Race
First off if you didn't watch the 4X100 Freestyle go watch it right now (plugin required but it's the Olympics and the Olympics this year are rocking my socks off).
Just want to give a shout out to the US 4X100 Freestyle team for one of the best races I have ever seen. The French, heavily favored to win the race, said they were going to "smash" the US. The U.S. proceeded to shatter the world record by 4 seconds.
Also... what do you think the chances are that Alicia Sacramone is into outdoor blogs?
